Radio Problems

Hello All,
I have a 2007 Camry, and the radio is on but no sound from the speakers. It comes in and out, but now there is nothing. I have checked fuses and they are all okay. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Welcome to TN!

I'm gonna move this to the A/V forum, you'll probably have a better shot at an answer over there.

your factory radio is probably gone. Time to change it out with an aftermarket head unit. I would advise to change out the factory speakers as well as they can only handle about 1-10 rms watts of power. Most aftermarket can handle anywhere from 2-200 rms watts. Never look at peak. peak is just the most it can handle during a brief burst of music. RMS is what you want to look for and that's the continuous amount of power given to it.

2way coaxial speakers are probably best for you to get. 3way is good although with 2way coaxials, you'll get much better sound. If you really want really good highs, then go with components which feature a separate woofer and midrange with separate tweeters you can mount anywhere, plus they come with crossovers so that you can finely tune the frequencies.

if you prefer to install it yourself, I'd advise checking out crutchfield.com. They include the wiring harness and installation kit free when you buy aftermarket head units from them as well as supplying master data sheets on how to access your head unit and/or speakers
