3rd Generation 96 Camry Stock Speaker/Wiring Mystery

So my Camry (I4) has been running happily all these years. About 3 years (rough estimate) ago the Front Left and Rear Right speakers suddenly stopped working. I was too lazy to do anything then...but this summer I took it upon myself to fix them. All fuses are in working order.

I've tested both speakers (9Volt Battery test after removing speaker from door panel) and found that the Front Left speaker is working perfectly fine, while the Rear Right speaker appears to be dead (haven't removed it yet to confirm by directly wiring it to new aftermarket Sony radio receiver).

Removing the radio receiver, I unwound the wiring corresponding to the Front Left speaker (it looked really sloppy) and reattached it thinking that would fix it. Nope. Nothing. Directly connecting that speaker to radio receiver works fine. So....there seems to be something wrong with the wiring between the Radio Receiver and Front Left speaker. I removed the side kick guards up front to reveal a bunch of wires, which are all connected with a modular plug.

I don't know where else to check in the wiring that might create an issue. The places I can easily see/access don't seem to show anything wrong with the wiring. Ammeter reading Does Not pick up any reading from plug in the door panel that plugs into the speaker....everywhere else it does.

Thanks in advance for helping!

seriously I think it's due to age of your factory speakers and head unit. You should just replace everything with aftermarket. Factory speakers are made of paper so they usually don't last or they get blown when you change out the head unit for an aftermarket one. Factory speakers typically only handle about 5 rms watts and most aftermarket head units put out anywhere from 14 to 22 rms per channel.

I've actually found the cause of the front left speaker not working:
96 Camry Stock Speaker/Wiring Mystery

I've fixed the broken wire that was hidden underneath the rubber boot...doors open and close a lot, sooner or later a wire is going to break.

However, I believe the rear right speaker is indeed DEAD (failed 9volt battery test) and not just another broken wire issue.

I'll probably replace all the stock speakers in the future...but wouldn't that require an aftermarket amp pump out more juice in order for them to work? Sounds like a lot of wiring involved...
(maybe i'll do it next summer)

EDIT: O_o wow I just noticed that you're from TC as well...what a coincidence

yep sounds like a big afternoon job to rewire everything. No an amp will put out more juice, but you can still get a good sound from using an aftermarket unit and the speakers. Kenwood excelon amps put out about 23 rms x 4 watts
