02 Camry LE system done

Well my system is finally complete.
I installed a JVC KDR 200 head unit which is feeding the factory JBL 6x9s.

I also put in a Crunch P1400.2 feeding 700 watts each to two JL w3v2 subs.

It is sitting on top of a laptop cooler, which is fed by a power inverter coming from the lighter socket.

A friend of mine found these subs on the street, and considering they go for 200 bucks a piece new, I did fairly well.
I built a box for each sub, ported, using my own specs. The boxes are fairly large, but they sound fantastic. The subs need some TLC, but I'm not worried about the look. Plan to carpet the boxes soon. The reason one has glue is because I didn't have caulk to use that day so glue had to work.

I wired it myself using 4 gauge wiring. This is what the battery looks like.

Mainly looking for opinions, not really a lot to show off.
The ground is running to a back seat bolt. All wires otherwise have been run thru the sills to the trunk. The power wire goes on the left side and thru a hole that is drilled about where the clutch pedal top would be if this was a standard. RCA and Remote wire go on the right side to the JVC without any holes. The laptop cooler wire goes from the inverter under the front passenger seat to the back passenger seat sill, which goes to the trunk, where a USB adapter is that goes to the cooler.

You really should fix those dust caps. They help move air around the coil to help cool it, and seal the front of the sub from the back wave, so your loosing out put without one, plus it's a cheap easy fix. You should be able to find one that fits on http://www.parts-express.com/ for under $2.00

Ohh, just one more suggestion, you already have power wires and a remote turn on lead going to the trunk, so put that inverter back there, if the inverter doesn't have a spot for a remote turn on than all you would need is a relay, (maybe two in parallel depending on current draw). I wouldn't really feel safe running a 120 volt line that far in a car, I hope it's fused at least.

Another option would be to just use PC cooling fans, most are 12V rated, and the decent ones will handle the 15-ish volts your alt will put out, but you can use a resistor to lower the voltage to them so they aren't spinning full speed all the time, making noise. or instead of a resistor you can pickup voltage regulator IC's at radio shack in 3.3V 5.0V and 12.0V, the connections are power | output | ground.

It looks like a good setup other than that, not over the top or anything, but better than most big store systems running around.

do you at least have some dynamat extreme in the trunk to stamp out the body panels from rattling?? Those sealed boxes look pretty good...really depends on what kind of music you listen. I personally prefer vented so my single 12" 3 cubic ft box works out nicely!!

Got practically most of my trunk covered with dynamat extreme except for about 40% of the wheel well...now turning my attention to the doors!

periodically you'll want to make sure that there aren't any weird strings of fabric from the trunk floor to the terminal and ground/power connections on your amp. If there any little strings, they can short out your amp!

Later on, you'll probably want to change out that Crunch amp for something with a little more oomph! I'd look into Hifonics or Lanzar mono class d amps!

here's another suggestion. Maybe you could look into mounting that crunch amp on the back of the folding rear seats...a typical way to install an amp and put the inverter where your crunch amp is situated on

None of those amps you mentioned I would consider to be better than mine. They are all budget brands as it is. I took one of the subs out also and carpeted one of the boxes so I have more trunk room. And mounting anything vertically is horrible for the sinks and caps.

In my experience, you can't get a better sounding amp than Memphis Audio. They make a really good product.

Having said that, I don't have one anymore Using an MTX thunder now

So the crunch amp has decided to die for no reason, and the Maxxsonics people don't think it is their fault. The only other amp I currently own is a Sony 4 channel. Not using it. And the sub without a dust cap decided to burn up it's voice coil go figure. So I'm running nothing now. I carpeted one of the boxes. Plan to get a rockford amp and a JL w3v3 2 ohm with my current wiring. Fan is gone also.
