is this a good deal?

im lookin for something just to add a little more volume and bass to my car, some more oomph, i found this guy in my area selling a 10" MTX sub with box and a p2002 Rockford amp for $50 canadian..
does anyone know the rms handling on the sub and amp?
are they good for the price and is this worth buying or should i spend a little more and find a better setup?
thanks

here are the specs on the amp: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...05+Model-.html

50 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
100 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms
200 watts RMS x 1 bridged output at 4 ohms

do you know what voice coil configuration the sub has?

for me, it would depend on the vc configuration. If it is not the proper configuration, you will only be feeding the sub 50 or 100 watts, which really isnt much at all.

i would probably pass on this, save up some more and get some better equipment with some more power. also, that box looks way too big for 1 10" and probably wont sound that good.

I am all for more power at almost any price, but you really can't beat $50.00 for a sub, an amp, and a box. You know you could at least get your $50 back on craigslist.

ohh yea, and that box is way too big.

ok so you will be feeding that sub 200 watts @ 4 ohm impedance if you wire it correctly. use this as a reference if you dont know how to wire the sub: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp

is the box sealed or ported? from what i can tell, it is sealed. if that is the case, that box is way too big for that sub. you will only be giving the sub around 2/3 of its optimal power handling, so you wont be getting everything out of the sub. It may not have the excursion it could have if you feed it the proper amount of power. Either way, i guess you cant go wrong with that price.
