Amp & Subs for Winter?

I just recently picked up a 10" MTX sub and a Rocksford Punch Amp from a buddy of mine and since its already October, winter here in Winter Peg (Winnipeg) is within the next month with weather dropping to around -40 degrees celius once and a while.
I needed to ask a question about sound systems in winter, so this is my first car along with my first system im hooking up, should i have all this gear in there for winter? i do park in a garage during nights but at school and stuff it will be completely open to the cold. Will this ruin the amp or sub? also i think im getting a job delievering pizza or chicken pretty soon (lol) so im going to be in it a lot
is this a good idea? or no?
thank you

it wont hurt the components.. the only thing you should be wary of is not to play your system loud when you are first starting out.. play at lower volumes to let the mechanical parts in the sub warm up to operating temperatures as to not damage it.

but once the components are warm, then it's actually better to have it really cold outside because your system definitely won't overheat! The cold outside will keep your components relatively normal.

It's only during this summer heat that it hastens the inside temperature to above 100 degrees. I've had my system go into protection mode merely at medium high volumes for an hour...even with the a/c going, it only helps to a certain point.

well if you have the proper ventilation then it should be fine. If you dynamat extreme, just make sure not to cover up all the openings. Some people I know take a vent hose and power a booster fan to pump more cool air from their a/c vents to go directly to their amps to keep them cool

Man, just buy a Digital amp, much more efficient and run much, much cooler.

except that amp is only 600 watts. Need an amp with at least 1000 rms at 1ohm and stable at 1ohm. That's where the Lanzars and Hifonics come into play for way less than 1 alpine pdx amp!

They have a 1000w digital amp and also a regular 1000w amp. I have a pdx 5 rated at 300w x 1 to the sub channel and it tested 436w. I would bet the 600w alpine would do just as much as the Lanzar and it would be cleaner, cooler, put less strain on the electrical components, along with using smaller wire etc. That can add up if you are buying 00 wire, You can use 4 gage with the Alpine.

The Alpines us Bang & Olufseng innards also, a plus in my book.

Check out Carstereonline, if you haven't yet. Best prices on the internets

i would recommend the kicker zx750.1. Very great amps that is way underated. i messed around once with my friends amp in my car, and the birth sheet says it puts out 924watts at 2ohms. only down side is that kicker amps dont go down to 1ohm.

x2 on the ZX750.1 it is a very powerful and underrated amp..

it is going to be hard and expensive to find a quality amp that will put out a true 1000wrms at 1 ohm.. be prepared to shell out at least a couple of hundred bucks
