Radio controls Freezing up??? - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

My 2008 Highlander has a wierd problem, intermitanley the stereo controls lock up and do not function at all, it had started just with the volume control which would freeze on a volume number setting, now at times it is involving all of the controls just locking up. Usuaully happens on a cold start, and after i run the car about 10 minutes the radio starts working again. And of course when i get it to the dealer it works ok, and they dont have any bullitins for it. Ideas?

maybe you could take it back to the dealer and have them check the wiring in the back...might just be a faulty wire. Or other option is to go with an aftermarket head unit if you don't really care to keep the factory look.
