Canada Radio spontaneous resets

Hi, I nave no idea why a radio on my Corolla 98 resets every time when an engine is turned on, or turned off. I'm not sure when exactly it happens. I'm tired to set up it. I wonder if somebody knows what problem is. To add, dome lights and others work.

There are 2 power connections. One that is always active to keep settings, and another that is active when the ignition is turned to accessory or on. It's possibly that the constant power wire is loose.

Is this an aftermarket unit or a factory one? The factory decks were cheap crap, so it's entirely possible it's time has come...

It's a factory radio. It means that I can't fix it?

Well if it is factory, there is less of a chance that a wire is loose (unless you've had it out to do something else) and more of a chance that it is simply a malfunction.

Have you checked all your fuses, both in the cabin and under the hood? There's a slight chance that something is blown affecting the constant power to the radio.

If there are no bad fuses and no loose wires, I would just drop in an aftermarket deck...it will be many times better than what you have now.

your problem is probably a sign that you need to have it replaced with an aftermarket unit. I don't think it's worth repairing from the dealer
