However the past week the speakers are cracking every so often and the whine does not go away. Also when i hit the brake my lights dim and if im standing still in drive sometimes the lights come on the dash and the radio cutts off. Once i give it a couple of revs it goes back on. Iv checked the voltage when i put the new alternator in and everything was fine i havent changed a thing. I have a active crossover hooked up to an amp that runs my speakers and 2 subs. I also have a capacitor hooked up to so i would think my lights shouldnt dim I would think it would be the grounds but i already checked them twice. Is there a method that you can check if you have a good ground. Im at a total stump right now. If anybody can help it would be greatly appreciated.

My local dealer says this can also happen when you disconnect power from your deck, meaning the battery cable, and then reconnecting the power to your deck, meaning the battery cable back on the battery. With the battery cable being removed and reconnected, the deck power cable remains. When this happens, sometimes when reconnecting the battery, there is a small surge of power going in your ACC shorting your little capacitors in your deck, which is the noise suppressing devices(which capacitors in the signal world is a filter).
So, acutally your local shop might be able to repair the capacitors for you. That's another thought if your grounding scheme doesn't work. Good Luck!
