http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2462389206

will this cd player work in my 92 camry, and if so how hard would it be to install if i've got the stock deck with radio on top and tape on bottom? thanks.

I would ask to see pictures of the back of the deck that way you can figure out if you have the same plugs or not.

I doubt it only because the 6 CD changer is so big that it probably does not have an internal amp in it, meaning that it has an external amp and is part of the premium sound system. Only way to be sure is to check your plugs and his.

alright, well that pretty much sounds like a no-go, but i'll ask for pics anyway.

on the same note, what is the best way to go for a cd player in my car? i'm not too concerned about amazing sound quality or power. i just want something to play cd's with in my car cause i'm tired of using the portable cd player + the headphone jack with the tape deck cassette . does anyone know off hand the cost of the oem cd player for the 92 cam? and has anyone on here done it or something like that? i'm mostly concerned about price and ease of installation cause i'll probably just put it in with a buddy or something.

p.s. i searched and couldn't find anything like this, so my bad if it's a repost. i also know virtually nothing about audio/video, so take that into account too. thanks!

You can get a pretty good pioneer or alpine cd player off of ebay for less than $96, and with a 10 dollar mounting kit will mount right into your dash. Just go to pioneer's or alpine's website and look for a player that has the features you want and then search ebay and the rest of the net for a good price. It'll probably give you better sound quality than a stock player anyways. The hardest part of installingit will be connecting all the wires to the new wiring harness, but wire color codes are available all over the net and solderless connectors are easy to work with. Shouldn't take more than an hour to put in any aftermarket cd player.
