Code Alarm problem

Bought a 91 MR2 NA with a code alarm in it. The alarm is a pile of crap. I've heard about those going out after a year or two so I am thinking about just taking it out.

But does the alarm deal with the door open/close bottom? (The buttom with a boot over it that makes the door open light come on and the dome light and all that)

Because I will have the door closed and it will still say its open, then I will click the alarm and the light will turn off but it wont lock the door like it is supossed to (only about a fifth of the time will it lock it).

So when the door is closed and it says it is open, the dome light is on, when I lift the door handle to get in, the light turns off (door open light stays on) until I let go of the handle.

When the door is open sometimes the light wont turn on. I will fiddle with the buttom and it will eventually activate.

Will uninstalling this alarm solve all of this?

Or are the door buttoms bad and that is what is causing this.
Both sides do this.

You're better off just uninstalling it completely and start from scratch with a new one. Those symptoms you see are from the alarm's failures.
