Hey guys, you have proved to be very reliable in the past and i look to you again for some advice. I have 2007 Camry CE with 5-speed and remote starter installed. I replaced the factory hu with an Alpine CDA-9886 and am running a Cerwin Vega 300W mono amp to a JL 12w3v3. The amp is installed on the back of the passenger side fold down rear seat. I will be replacing the stock speakers with 2 pairs of Alpine components (6020cs) and amping them with an older sony xplod 444W 4 channel amp. My questions to you are: What is the best location for the amp and crossovers? What is my best route for wiring? I was going to run one main power line off the battery to a small 1 ferule capacitor, then run to a distribution block and split from there. How do i go about wiring up the speakers after i come out of the crossovers? Just do away with the factory wiring seeing as how i will be running rca cables from the hu to the amp? This is the part that is confusing to me having never amped speakers before. Also, has anyone with a new camry replaced the factory tweeters in the dash, or should i just cut the wires to them and mount the new ones in the doors? I know its a lot of jumble here, but, i am just trying to get it all out there for you. Thanks for any help in advance.
first you dont need a cap, unless you just really want one. save your dough. you can still use the distro block. so are you replacing all the speakers or just the front or rears? are you going to rewire from the amp to the speakers?
DONT CUT UP ANY FACTORY WIRING, JUST DISCONNECT.
if your going to re-wire then just unplugging the factory plugs and running the new wire will do. if you plan on using the stock wires then you tap in will have to be into the output plug on the factory amp. if i am not understanding what you are trying to do please explain further.

I agree with biggg and dont cut the factory wires. that's a big no no. unless you don't care about the warranty. but anyhows on your cap. It's not a bad idea unless you wire it correctly also. Are you having problems with your electrical system when your bass hits? then i understand why the caps. but for me i don't add things into my system unless necessary. but heres a diagram on how to wire your caps correctly. i got it from the soundstream website.
since you have two amps i would do it to the subwoofer amp and not the distribution block. I'm not to familiar with the caps, but I just by looking at the diagram thats what i got out of it. Good luck.

I do not have a problem with power supply now. I understand why it is not good to cut factory wires, but how should i wire in the sperkers. I am replacing both the fronts and rears. Thanks guys
you can either run new wire to the speakers, i ran 12ga. or you can use your factory wire, in which you will tap into the output wires on your factory amp, assuming you have one.

like biggg said you can run new wires through out your car, but you can also use your factory wires. It should be fine for your application unless your really peculiar(not to sure if you spell it like that). anyways, it's a lot of work to rewire your car, so my suggestion, is to change the speaker wires unless neccessary. To be quite honest, if you don't have good quality speakers, you wont hear a great big of a difference. I say it's not worth the gain. good luck!
