Help me build my aftermarket list

I have $400 to spend.

I want a head unit, alpine or kenwood is good.
I want a new amp.
I want a single 12in sub. I know how to put together a box, but loaded box or blank, is fine.
A wirekit to handle to power.

I want it to hit hard, but it doesn't need to be retarded, but I guess more power is better if its within the price range and good quality.

Help me out guys, if you can link me to somewhere I can buy these online, THAT ISN'T EBAY, it would be awesome.

Thanks guys!!!

bro your not going to get all that for 400. take a look at these threads, there is an amp in the 1st one,

make an offer if interested

i thought i had pics of my kenwood dvd unit - kvt-715. i also have a cerwin vega that i bought as a replacement until i got my new ones back. it thumps but of course its not a jl or anything. i also have a unit for the kenwood that operates like a ipod, but more stable in my opinion. if you have any intrest hit me up.

400 bucks for all of that. even if you went generic, you'll probably go over. just all the additional material and such will drive your price. I would say go for a less reputable brand for your deck if you want to try and make your $400 budget. i don't know about ebay, but go with more reputable online car stereo stores. make sure they got BBB so you can get your money back, if stuff goes wrong. good luck.

what kind of box sells for 25? damn thats cheap. the wood alone cost that much. well not to debate you or anything. Just trying to make the guy aware that it may cost a lot more then he planned to get what he wants.

I say a CHEAP box cost 25 buck but it's better to built your own box because of the right spec for subs. anyhow, when ever i built a system or whatever on a budget it seem to go over budget anyway. its alway a few more dollar, you can get something better.

A full system on 400 bucks is possible, seeing that you mainly buy used equipment. If budget is an issue, I honestly would build the system piece by piece like I did.

I started out with a headunit. Once i saved up more, I bought a set of component speakers and an amp to drive them. After a little longer, I was able to buy a sub amp(i got a sub and box for free from a friend). I have upgraded a few times since then but pretty much everything I have bought is used.

With 400 bucks, I would start out with:

a headunit like this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...KDC-MP242.html

a component set like this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+SPS-600C.html

a speaker amp like this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...08ZX200.2.html

and an amp kit: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...rodID=KFX-AK44

all this together is right around 400 bucks. Now i know there is no subwoofer, but to be honest with you, you will want to upgrade your interior speakers first to obtain the clarity. You dont want to get a subwoofer that requires 400-600 watts of power while using your stock interior speakers.

12" Kicker CVR (SUB) - $85.00
Kenwood KAC9104D (AMP) - $180.00
Kenwood KDC-MP338 (HEADUNIT) - $105.00
Earthquake AK5000 (Wirekit) - $40.00
Subtotal: $410.00
Discount: $10.00
Total before shipping:$400.00

From caraudiocraze.com

They are all over Google Shopping, Paypal and Google Checkout Verified. I have been e-mailing them back and forth seeing what they can put together for me and he even gave me a discount.

Thoughts?

(I already have Alpine component speakers BTW)

edit-

I got my buddy from a local pro audio gear shop to help me wire up this POS AMP I got today.

Its one of those VR3 300w (but really only 30watt) WalMart AMPS, hooked up to a 10in SPK shitwoofer. I blew that in 20 minutes, it was free so meh, I got a Total Mobile Audio (Made by JL, discontinued though) 10in that dropped right into the box I took the blow SPX from. The new sub is rated for like 150 at 4 ohms, so I can only assume it will be near double at 2...
It sounds good, but with a better amp and headunit, I am sure it will sound better.

So for now, I am going to get the Kenwood Headunit, listed above and the Kenwood Amp listed above. I only want to run a single sub, so if I get a single output amp, I won't be tempted to buy another sub.

Most mono amp today have 2 speaker connection, also you want to get the right sub to match your amp output. Look at the Ohms rateing.

Also you can wire 2 subwoofer, run series, or parallel.

the amp that you planning to get is 900watts at 2 ohm and 500watts at 4 ohm, you can add another subwoofer in the future.
