Bluetooth Incoming Caller Display?
Can the JBL bluetooth systems in the 2009-2010 Corolla be set to show you the actual name text you imported from your phone's address book and/or speak your recorded "dial by name" voice tag whenever you receive a call from one of the contacts you entered in the Toyota's address book?
From looking at the online video tutorials on the Toyota web site, it seems really dumb that it would really only display numerical digits of the phone number or say "incoming call" when you have a matching entry in the phonebook and have also recorded the dial by name voice tag.
"Incoming call from {recorded voice tag for John Smith}" and displaying "JOHN SMITH" on the radio screen is better than displaying "2125551212" and just speaking "incoming call."
The voice tags should have been designed to work for both dialing by name as well as announcing the incoming caller. Do they really work and the video just didn't show it or is the system really so limited? Even the cheapest throw-away pre-paid cell phone you can buy at Walmart at least uses and displays the text of the saved contacts in it's little address book for incoming caller-id.
The tutorial says the system can only hold 20 contacts. Wow!
I don't have thousands like some people, but I have more than 20.
The Blu Logic kit starts to look a little better since that gives you full voice dialing capability for the entire phone phonebook on your phone, but then you have no incoming caller identification at all.
