Repairing stolen CD player

I had my CD player stolen from my car not to long ago in doing so they took a screw driver and pried open my center dash console (if thats what you call it, the black plastic console which houses two center vents, the climate controls, and clock, ect) so it just hangs out... i can push it back in but it just falls back out given enough time.... in addition the "anchors" (if thats what they are) are all bent & snapped so i cant rescrew it back in.... anywho, is there any hope that my car can be restored to its former nonglory? I had good speakers in (good thing they didnt steal those) but its a bummer not being able to hear music from them? I as you can tell i have (at least) two problems 1) i dont even know the proper terminalogy, so i have a hard time searching for what i need cause i dont what to call what i'm looking for 2) where to search for what I need. My car is a 96 Carolla DX 1.8.

thanks!!!

Any CD player will do, as long as the thieves didn't completely hack up the wiring loom (although even then it's fixable). As for the console, just get new clips from a wreckers and you'll be good to go.

well, you can inspect the damage yourself I hope... if you can't figure it out, then post a picture. But, you might need to get a new surround piece with the vents... there are lots on US Ebay, not sure where you are..... and yes, any head unit will work to hear music

I agree with going to the wreckers. When I purchased the Geo someone had stolen the cd player as well. That entire black center console section (as you described) was cracked and broken.

I bought a new console section from the wreckers for $10 from a another Geo. Best part is loading up your pockets with all the free screws and bolts at the yard.

Looks factory new now and was easy to replace.

Thread moved to the Audio, Visual, and Security forum so the folks there can provide you with help. I've left a redirect in the Corolla forum so members there can link to this thread. Thanks, and good luck on a solution.
