I don't have a Tacoma but this is usually the case with most Toyota set-ups. If they physically fit the dash and the plugs on the head-unit are the same, then it should work. You have to make sure that both units are either self-amplified or both use an external amplifier (Usually the JBL version). Self-amplified head-units usually have a 6 and 10pin connector for power/speakers and the external version usually have a 20pin connector (with the external amplifier system, they can be either Digital or Analog versions). I'm not sure if the SAT version head-unit's sat receiver is internal or if it uses an external receiver but in either case you'll need a special plug to connect to the sat antenna jack.
