lil more help with sub decision...

I have a Kenwood KAC 7295 600w amp and I'm looking at replacing my blown HE2 Dual 4ohm 800w max sub with a new HE2... Should I go with the Dual 4ohm or the Dual 2ohm? Whats the difference? Which would be better with my amp?

4ohm

That amp is too weak for that sub.

The way you wire it up, it has two voice coils which means you have to wire them up in series or parallel. When you do so it either drops or raises the ohm rating. If you had two 4 ohm voice coils your only options to run the speaker would be 8 or 2 ohms. You need the 2 ohm because then you can either run it at 4 ohm or 1 ohm. Your amp's 99% likely wired up bridged unless the installer was the dumbest dipshit ever and so that means it's putting out a 4ohm load. If you're only going to run one speaker you want a 4ohm load to match up to how your sub is currently wired.

ok. I understand that much. I definately want the 2ohm, right?

The installer was a friend... aka dipshit

How should I wire up the 2ohm HE2? what to what and where to where, I'm a audio noob.

Option 2?
