Odd Problem With Amp

So I was away for a weekend and my dad accidentally shifted the amp so that the ground cable was pulled off. The "protect" light came on, and so I tried to fix it this morning. I reconnected the ground cable, after pulling off the RCA cable. In essence it stopped working and here is when the protect light comes on:

When I plug in the RCA cable into the input on the amp
When I disconnect the ground cable
When both are connected
When neither are connected

The amp is alphasonic btw

What is it that I'm missing? I thought that if I plugged everything back in it would work again but it seems like it isn't. I unplugged the fuse and plugged it back in after everything else was connected. What could I try?

when the ground cable became disconnected, it may have touched a non-grounded metal and shorted out your amp.

I would remove all wiring and add one at a time.. start off with just power, ground and remote turn on.

it kinda sounds like you may have blown a component inside the amp..

The thing is, my remote turn on cable is wired to a switch so I can turn off the amp when my family is in the car too. It was off when I left, so the ground cable that disconnected, if it touched ungrounded metal, which I doubt it could because there's nothing in my trunk, disconnected while the amp wasn't turned on.

Would the ground touching the body of the amp short out the amp?

It doesnt matter if the remote wire is switched on or not because the power wire still has power running through it when he turns on the car, since the wire is hot and still holding energy even when the amp isnt on so when the ground got pulled out it must have touched the power wire or terminal. I had this happen once or twice and had to get both amps fixed, it sounds like you fried the power supply. They are very difficult to fix yourself so the best bet is to see if its under warranty and call them see how much it will be to fix

you may have blown a transistor/resistor/FET. The amp would still work but it would go into protect as soon as in turns on like you are saying. I would recommend taking it out of the car, opening up the case and looking at the board for burnt components.

This is my xtant amp that is broken. It automatically goes into overcurrent protection because of the burnt up components:
