Need Opinion: Full Size 12" or Slim 12" (Sonys)

Ok, I had two Sony 12" subs before. Enclosed. They sounded nice. (both got stolen, I hope those subs were wired bombs)

How much difference would it be between a full sized 12" versus the slim 12" that Sony has?

Trying to seek for more room after installation. Also will be adding more security features so the sub, amp, and radio are not easily taken (need some room for that, dressed up to look nice but serve a purpose, welded pipes and stuff).

I have an AE92.

recommend going with full. Slim is if you dont' have a lot of space but want decent bass.

did you have your amp bolted to your box that got stolen??

My car got broken into twice... June 2007 and Dec 2009

The first one, yes.

The second one, no. But the amp was just thrown back there. However, the box was screwed down onto the trunk floor board. They managed to steal my radio this time, too. All under 20 minutes, mother fu---rs, I have things waiting for them if I catch them. Bait my car one night, I hate these fools.

do you have a good car alarm??

when you say bait, do you mean you've hooked up a 20k watt electrical charge if they try to steal it again??

I did after the first break in. Then my knee hit the switch and it acted up after that. I'll try to hook it up again. It's a two-way pager Viper alarm.... crap. I can probably use some help on it. Last thing it did was keep blinking the led once every second or so continuously, couldn't arm/disarm. Pressed the black button, but problem persisted. I hope having it disconnected for over a year has somehow reset the damn thing.

I meant have one of my friends' drive the car to the place, park it, walk off, at 3 in the morning while the whole time I sit there hidden behind a dumpster with a baseball bat wearing steel-toe shoes. I'll call the cops then. If I have to explain to the cop why is he unconcious and over-significantly wounded, he tried to rob me so I taught him a few invaluable things. I'm sure who did it had to live in the area. No way they would've known I'd be there to drop a friend off at 3am, after I haven't been there in a week.

Well, I just got my Sony GT740UI head unit.

Looking for Sony Amp, single 12" Sony subwoofer. Last ones, I spent a little over $200 (amp was a reman, both subs (I got two for $100) and amp came from eBay). So, maybe $300 at the most? trying not to branch from sony.

It's just to look good and have a good bass and sound. Sony's always been my fave. Also, don't have the money in the world to go for premium or best stuff.

you're baiting the thief to try to steal your car reminds me of this show on Spike TV where the cops have a dummy car rigged with cameras and a remote kill switch where they have it tailed by several cars and then go in for the arrest.

you could try replacing that sony amp with something like hifonics which are usually underrated and more efficient in putting out power

That's the idea. Finding out my car has been taken advantage of, I'm not satisfied until the dick who did it learns the harder, street justice way than a few nights behind bars (if that).

If you replace all of your audio components, I would probably turn down your system about a few blocks before you get home so that they don't hear that you've got new equipment so they won't suspect that you've replaced everything.

It's what I do when I arrive at a place I've never been to so that I don't attract any unwanted attention. I spent a pretty penny having a 2nd battery and battery isolator wired in for my MB Quart DSC1500.1 amp installed...
