Viper/DEI 5101 remote starter help.

Hey guys, so I purchased a viper 5101 around xmas time but never got around to installing it , and now I;m just getting the wires ready and figured out and I have a few wires that I am unsure about ... Why I'm unsure is that I'll see them being used in DIY's and some people say they are not needed.

First is the

H1/10 White/Blue

"(-) REMOTE START/ TURBO TIMER ACTIVATION INPUT

This input comes from the factory set to 1 activation pulse. This means that it is necessary to have a single ground pulse on the white/blue wire for the remote start to activate or to deactivate.
The H1/10 wire can also be used to activate the Turbo Timer mode when the car is running and this wire receives a ground.
Note: The number of activation inputs can be programmed to 1 or 2 pulses with an optional momentary switch. This setting affects both the input wire and the remote control when operating the remote starter."

A bunch of threads and DIY's say it is not needed (car doesnt have a turbo), BUT in the description above which is straight from the install manual... it says that it is necessary for the remote start to activate? So I'm going to assume that I'll need it ? I seen on a forum, a DIY said to just connect it to the E-brake wire? Does this seem right ?

My second question is ...

H2/1 Light Green/Black

"(-) 200mA FACTORY ALARM DISARM OUTPUT

This wire sends a negative pulse every time the remote start is activated , channel 2 is activated (programmable on/off) or when the doors are unlocked with the remote. This can be used to pulse the disarm wire of the vehicle’s factory anti-theft device. Use a relay to send a (-) or (+) pulse to the disarm wire as shown in the following diagrams."

Again a few DIY's say it's not needed and a few say its needed.

Im going to assume this disarms the factory alarm when the alarm is armed and you use the remote start. Or else the alarm would go off each time unless the doors are unlocked?
Im pretty sure I'm going to need this but need some clarification.

The third is ...

H2/3 Green/White

"LIGHT GREEN/WHITE

This wire sends a negative pulse every time the remote start shuts down or when the doors are locked with the remote. This can be used to pulse the arm wire of the vehicle’s factory anti-theft device. Use a relay to send a (-) or (+) pulse to the arm wire."

I don't think I need this ... but it just says it rearms the alarm if the remote start is shut off? Sounds useless? Do I need this ? I say this because ... if the factory alarm is disabled from the negative pulses from the H2/1 wire to disarm the alarm, once the remote start is shut off, wouldnt that just cut off the negative pulse which re-arms the alarm?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Your best bet is to search the forums on the12volt.com. That was how I got my system installed.

White and blue activation wire is not needed. the intended uses is if you happen to have another device that can output a pulsed signal to trigger the RS to activate. for instance, if you had a preexisting aftermarket alarm and you wanted the alarm to activate the RS. A buddy of mine had hooked this wire to a switch that pulsed ground so that he could activate the car without the remote, but there are some security concerns with attempting this. For normal purposes, you don't need to use it.

The next 2 wires are questionable as to what kind of car you have and if it is equip with a factory alarm. On most toyotas that have a set of arm and disarm wires, I usually hook up the lock output from the remote start directly to the arm and disarm because they usually control the locks (double pulse for unlock). Same result with half the work, go for it. Even if it does have a factory alarm, All that would be needed is to hook up the status wire from the RS (blue or blue/white) to the disarm w/no unlock which is typically the keysense wire. You could hook up the factory alarm rearm wire green/white to the rearm in the car, but it is kind of pointless as the factory alarm can be deactivated by sticking any key into the ignition cylinder that fit without having to turn the key.
