4th Generation Amplifier Install

Hey guys, I recently got subs for my Camry and I've gotten everything wired except the power. Problem is I can't find a hole on the drivers side firewall to pass the cable through. I searched first for an answer and I got this.

I've seen the grommet myself, but I had a question, is there another way, because taking off the wheel is such a pain. Also, if I take the wheel off myself, and then put it back on, will I run into any problems with loose bolts or anything? Because usually they're put on with a torque screw right? Also, for grounding the amp, where is the closest bolt?

You can always drill a hole if you don't want to use pre-existing ones.

What is a torque screw? Do you mean a torque stick used in conjunction with a pneumatic impact gun?

For Toyotas, the wheel is held on by usually by at least 4 lug nuts -- I have no idea what car you are working on. These need to be torqued to about 80lbs in a star pattern. YOu can use the wrench provided in the trunk with it's a bit of effort required because it is short.

I grounded my amp to one of the bolts that holds side seat piece down. I thought about using the same one that fastens the seatbelt but decided that wasn't something I wanted to mess with.

I think I'll just take off the wheel, saves me the gas and money to buy a metal drill bit and then taking the risk of drilling into something. But once I take off the wheel and open up the liner, I should easily be able to feed the wire into the cabin right? Oh and what I meant about the torque screw (lol) is just how they tighten lug nuts at a shop, sorry I'm really tired. I'll be probably doing this by hand from the tools in the trunk.

Not easily, but you'll be able to do it. I grounded mine under the seatbelt bolt. Wherever you ground make sure you take off the paint to get a clean connection.

and make sure it is TIGHT on the bolt end and at the amp!

I found it the hard way where the ground at the amp terminals came loose and it created a loop which blew out my alternator fuse. And it was a bitch to get to in order to replace because the 100a alt fuse is like a tooth!

there is a passage way on the passenger side. I passed my cables throught the passenger side. You should be able to find a way on that side too.
