4th Generation Running wire through glove compartment

OK, so i recently installed my Pioneer DEH-P4100UB in my 00 Camry. I am thinking about running the usb wire from the back of the radio and into the glove compartment. But my question is, is are there any moving parts behind the glove compartment? And can running it through there possibly mess with wires or anything for the airbag, causing it to malfunction?

You should be fine, although You should always look at first. If there happens to be any moving parts like the mechanisms for the ventilation the best thing to do is just zip-tie the cable down so it doesn't have much play. And there is no danger of messing with the airbag so long as you don't go messing with random wires or plugs.

i have a jvc dvd deck and my usb wire is in my glove box. I hardly use it though. It's not as convinient as I thought it was. I think some where along like the arm rest in the middle is a pretty good location for the usb wire. Plus if you run it there, there is a cigarette lighter there, so u can charge or run your device if you need power. Good luck!

If you search the forum there is thread on radio removal which has photos of how to start taking the floor counsel apart and also on how to remove the glove box. The procedures are easy once you see the pictures. I removed the glove box and drilled a hole from the top to route and amplifier remote control inside the glove box. I don't recall anything that moves behind the glove box. I ended up routing wires through tie loops hanging from the back corner glove box supports.
