Question '89 Camry Dash Removal

Hey, I'm trying to remove my dash but I can't figure out how! I'm doing the passenger side first, and I must have removed every screw connecting the dash. I even removed the glove compartment door, but can't seem to remove the actual glove compartment. Should I just grab onto the back of the dash and pull really really hard? I tried searching google for a while, but I couldn't find anything helpful.

which part of the dash? the whole top part or the bottom? takin off the bottom is easy, to take off the whole top then that will take a bit longer and is very timely...if you want a good idea as phatle91 (i think thats his name), he's done a whole swap on his dash...other wise just tell us what your doin and what part of the dash you are tryin to do.

re-read ur post...so have you taken out the glove compartment or just the front panel on it....this shouldnt happen....to take off the glove compartment, just remove the 2 screws underneath it that go through these lil plastic like tabs that are joined to the glove box. on the picture below it is the 2 red dots. after that grab the handle as you would to open it and pull it forward until it is right out then pull up a bit...if this doesnt work tell me and i'll check again...

I guess I should have said *why* I'm trying to remove the dash. I'm trying to install new speakers in the front. But hey, I'll try what you said.

new speakers eh?

ok you'll need to take off a few more....there might be afew clips too....shit...i'll have a look for you later but there are about 10 screws if that....hard to remember....give the dash area around the glove box a lil tug and if part of it moves just check whcih is holdin it back and if you cant see a screw then it might be a clip....

see how u go and get back to me later....i havent got the car atm...

all the best

The glove compartment is held on with a few screws. 2 at the top and 3 on the bottom if I remember correctly.

Did you remove all the bolts for the dash? Theres 4 at the bottom (2 on each lower corner). I think theres 1 behind the speaker grill too.
