Need help with a fortin bypass and viper 5701 on 06 Tacoma.

I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma double cab v6 thanks

I have a viper 5701 and trying to install the alarm myself. I installed alarms on a few cars but never with a keysense.

I tapped into the lock (purple) and unlock (green/black) wires from the kick panel but when i arm or disarm the locks dont engage.

I also have a Fortin KEY-OVERRIDE-SL2 box but the instructions that came with it is garbage. where is the data in and data out wires?

Does my truck have a data link box? and if so, the fortin override came with a plug that suppose to plug into the datalink box?

Here is the link to the fortin installation instructions.

Pictures would be awesome also!

thanks guys , God bless

Most if not all cars have a keysense wire. The only difference may be the fact that the bypass module needs to use the keysense wire for programming for some toyotas.
As far as the lock wires go, did you test the wires to see if they were to correct wires. Or if those were really your arm/disarm wires, the disarm on most toyotas need a double pulse unlock. That can be changed in programing the alarm.
The12volt says that LOCK is Blue/White (not purple) and UNLOCK is Green/Black (double pulse) both are negative found at the drivers kick.
Another one says the same colors as you posted.
I cannot verify if these wires are correct since I only have directechs access from work and I don't have your car in front of me. So always verify with a meter before connecting.

RTFM! Its all in the manual. The data wires needed for the bypass are located @ the key cylinder. The link for the manual tells what location they can be found. Since your car is type G, then look at page 3, it illustrates a 7 pin plug and the data wires are in pin 4 and 5.
That data link is intended to link to the alarm. Since no other features are utilized, you can choose either method. Just dont forget to hook up your status/ground when running.

haha I wasn't even paying attention to the G plug. but the small connector that goes to the data link, I just cut it and run it to the car 12v and ground right?
