Getting No Sound With After Market Pioneer Avic D3

Has anyone successfully installed a pioneer avic d3 HU in their camry 07?

I have a Camry 07 Se with non navigation premium JBL system.

So far i have swapped out the rear and front speaker with infiniti 6x9 and before the pioneer deck i had a alpine tilting head unit, I forgot the model number. I also bought the scoche amp adapter for 90.00 at the time because Best buy said that I would need that in order to play/hear music.
So when I got the pioneer avic D3 I had trouble getting it to power up. I blew a few fuses along the way and saw that the light on the scoche amp adabter wasn't blinking at all (it would blink with the alpine head unit) so I took it to best buy and they said they had the integrated harness for the JBL system by metra *it ran around $18.00* and it looks similar to the Metra TYTO-01 JBL Amplifier Interface Harness but it didn't cost me 80.00.
So everythign powered on after best buy took a look at it but now the only problem is I get no sound what so ever... Not even a buzz. Has anyone come across this probelm?
Did I blow my amp? I tried unplugging all the wires from the amp and replugging to reset... I've checked all the fuses and they are all good..
Do I need a new amp? I'm planning on buying a 12'' Alpine Type R sub and amp but that's a later project.. I just want freaking sound!
If anyone that is experienced or has had the same experience and has solutions i can try before i'm spending another 60-80.00 for best buy to look at it would be greatly appreciated.

Is this the adapter your talking about? Not sure why you would need that. If i see it right that would be put between speaker wiring and the amp and then to speakers. the metra adapter is only needed if you plan on using factory amp. May i suggest doing a little more research when putting together a system. Personally i would just do the whole system at once. No knock to best buy, as had some friends that work there, but the guys in the install area are not most kowledgeable.(there are exception though) I have put together many systems though it's been a while. Some of the new cars can be a pain with the stering wheel remotes. If you give me what you have in there now and the order, I'll gladly do what i can to help. Model numbers would also help. I can also ask a freind who works in a custom audio shop and is going to be doing my next system. Trust me really plan this guy out, I know from experience, one of my first systems the main power line going to trunk shorted to and filled car with smoke and took out injector fuse. Leaving me stranded. I agree with check fuse, its true best way is to check with multimeter, you can get a good one fairly cheap,

first thing first, dont work on your cars electrical system without disconnecting the battery first.

based on what you have said, it is possible you may have fried the audio outputs on the amp adapter. i would look into that first.

So wait, you had a different aftermarket headunit in there already an alpine. Wnd when you got this new one you decided to change the wiring, even though it worked with the previous headunit? That makes no sense.

Did you power up the amp turn on wire properly?
It also sounds like you may have messed up your factory amp. If all else fails you can check to see if your amp is good/bad by replacing your factory deck and see if the fuse blows again or if you get sound.

Have you considered pulling the amp?
If not I would think about bypassing the factory amp altogether. Especially since you have new speakers already installed, I believe they would work better off the aftermarket headunit, due to the fact that the factory amp is designed to work with the factory speakers. Even if you get an aftermarket amp to power your speakers, it would require the factory amp to be bypassed anyway. And if your factory amp is done with this would be the way to go. You could either run your wires directly to each speaker, or you could run a bundle of wires from your headunit to where your factory amp is located and go to town over there. (keeping in mind that polarity is always important) The latter of the two requires less work, since you are not pulling all of your speakers out again or fishing wires through the door boot, but may be harder to know what polarity the speaker wires are without a guide for the wire colors. But I'm sure you can find it somewhere on the internet
