Gen3 Radio Install

Hey guys,

sry for the noobish questions. I'm pretty sure the install is straight forward, but i just wanted to double check. I"m instaling a new head unit on my Gen 3 93 LE and i was wondering if there were any tips or how tos out there. I did a quick search but came up pretty empty.

tools....philips screwdriver, flat putty knife...take the knife and pry the center u-shaped plastic piece round the h/u and remove...2. then unscrew the four screws on the h/u bracket located in the din....remove h/u and take it out of the brackets...insert new h/u and work your way back

thanx guys i wasn't able to get back to the computer to check it out but the install went smoothly. Got the U-Shape trim off, then unplugged the lighter, took out the screws and then luckily i had bought a special harness from scoche to fit toyotas, i used the splice connectors so that i didn't have to cut any wires andmatched up the colors and then worked my way back. I'll have pics up soon.

If you want your H/U to fit flush like a factory deck, you'll have to make some custom mounts for it too...only takes about 30 minutes with a Dremel, ruler, and some sheetmetal

No custom mount needed; mine bolted right onto the stock mount, it had holes marked for Toyota/ Nissan Vehicles
