1984 Toyota Supra

Im about to pick up some new spears for the car, and I dont feel like taking it appart to find out the speaker set up. So can anyone help me by telling me what speaker sizes will fit in the car, and wear they can go. So far i know of the two front, and two rear, Im more wondering if there are any other places that have existing mounting that I may able to install some speakers into.

well there is only 2 in the front dash adn two in the rear that I have found..... they sell mounting kits and stuff for the doors, but i wouldn't do that because in my opinion it sticks out like a sore thumb...... you could always but some in boxes in the back. (btw... i own an 1985 toyota supra so it might be different)

Yeah, I dont particualrly want the speakers sticking out or any such thing, hidden is much better. Looks like I will just have to junk my 6 by 9's which are getting old anyways, and pick up some smaller speakers. Subs+Factory speakers arent exactlly a great sound haha.

Well I have decided to not mod the car at all with speakers, just replace the factory speakers with ones of the same size. So any opinions on what the best speakers to go with would be. I generally go with the Xplodes, and havent had a problem yet, but im sure there is better stuff out there. I also need to buy a new amp, and since im going at it, I might as well grab a new deck and subs. So I want the best sound out there, not just car rattling bass, which sounds like ass. The only thing I know I will be putting in is probably a Sony deck, because they seem to make the best MP3 decks right now.

i usually go with infinities..... but there are even better one's out there then those.... i just like them because they are pretty affordable and really good sound for the price.

a good place to go for cheap car stereo stuff (some off brands) is
www.etronics.com

some good name brand stuf is:
www.carmedia1.com

they are more expensive but i never heard of any complaints from them:

a few that i think are good brands are:

infinity (speakers)
pheonixgold (amps)
rockford fosgate (amps and subs)
kicker (subs)
jl (subs)
audiobahn (amp and subs)
pioneer(headunit)

as for sony... the only thing i like about them is the look of their headunits..... i really don't like their amps or subs

it all depends on the look you going for too..... just what ever you decide on doing.... make sure you have enough juice, a solid ground, and the right box demensions for the right sound output

I recommend audiobahn's 6.5" 's or if you 6x9 use like pioneer. Sony are rather bad at making speakers\subs (in my opinion)
