Customizing subs for gen4

Just wondering, if I wanted to customize a box for my subs to fit into, what should i use to build it?

I kinda wanna have one clean piece going from the far left to the far right as possible so you can't see through when the rear seats are folded down. any suggestions?

wood, screws, plexiglass, carpeting, and glue...

first you need to figure out where your going to mount your amps, how much cubic feet you need for your subs, and if your going to use the tire well or not. you want to use mdf for your basic structure then cover it on speaker grill cloth. after that all is left is to cover it with fiberglass, sand it down, and either paint it or have it covered in your choice of material. the fiberglass will be the hardest part, i suggest you get someone who has worked with it before because if you have never used the material you might just end up making a big mess, trust me Ive seen it happen.

i did my trunk myself and i used 1/2" particle board... the sound difference is only minimal as i had another soundbox from before that uses thicker boards. i've considered using fibreglass but as lilsmurf have said it's very difficult for beginners... so i basically made my trunk with all wood... heavy.. but hey it works! so i don't mind... i wraped my cover piece with vinyl which looks awsome from my point of view as a beginner.

only thing u'll have to decide is how ur going to fasten ur box to the well... i used the screwhole for the spare tire to fasten my box.. very rigid... probably a good idea for u too if u don't decide to go fibreglass... coz for someone with a good technique they can use fibreglass, make it so tight fitting that once the seats r folded back up u don't need one screw to hold it in place.

if u want i can post some of my pics 4 u... pm me for them
