Question Customizing trunk to fit subs...

Right now I have 2-12" subs in a box I bought from Best Buy, but I wanna have a customized trunk where I can fit the subs elsewhere other than the box which slides around.

How would I go about doing that?

deside where you want the subs to go and the layout with the amp/s and stuff. maybe search around the internet for custom sub enclosurues to get an idea of what you want. the easiest place to look might be sounddomain.com

ORRR..... get some damn wood... forget whats its called... but the kind you build speaker boxes with. Find how much air your subs need. And get building. Caulk all of the edges with that crap, and wrap it with tweed or something of the likes. If you wanted to spend some $ you could just have a shop do it. But that kinda blows.

if you are worried about the box sliding around your trunk, in the past when ive done stereo intallations, where there is carpet, i've used the clear plastic rug runner (smooth on top, and small spikes on the bottom) which i mount to the bottom of the box, and it usually does a very good job holding it in place... or if you didnt have a carpet in the trunk, look for those rolls of anti-slip material that people often times use under rugs on hardwood floors... ive never really had any problems with these products...

Hmmm id either go with the non skid material they were talking about or just get a couple brackets and mount it down that way.

Velcro works if your trunk is carpeted.

lol, my play for my old 15's was,
Build 2 big boxes, to fill my whole trunk
pull up the carpet
get some brackets to hold the boxes
cut holes for the speakers in the carpet
put in the boxes and speakers
glue down the carpet over the boxes
(make sure u get ur speakers wired first lol)
Hook up the amp, then screw it into the box
and now u got a nice lil custom floor in ur trunk with the speakers sitting right in the floor.
