What do u think of this setup?

I am currently running a Lanzar VIBE268 2000 watt 2 channel amp to 2 JBL GT100's (10") in a bandpass box...i know that i should be aware of what gauge wiring etc. but i have no idea is there n e way to tell what gauge of wiring? and is there n e way to tell how much power(wattage) is actually getting to my subs?

Thanx for all the help/advice,

P.S. im a 15 yr. old noob so bear with me...lol

i'm not sure if you want to about gauges or how to read them or what are a good gauge for your setup? BUt i will tell you a little af each. First a gauge is basically the thickness of the wire. Now the higher the gauge the skinnier the wire. Most of the time skinny is bad. The skinnier the wire (higher the gauge) the less reponse to the speaker. On most wires it will say ex.(14ga or 14 gauge). Finally when it comes to sub wiring most people use 4ga. This is sometimes called monster cable. it is really thick and expensive. If you have subs you should have 4ga wires. If not your subs aren't performing to it's ability.

I hope i helped. ONe

Monster cable is a specific brand... just get any 4 guage power wire, doesn't really matter. The RCA wires have different qualities that do make a small difference but for subs you'll be fine with some cheap ones.

A good place for cheap wires is: www.knukonceptz.com

If you are installing just a sub, then it would be a bitch to redo all your wiring because you would have to take off door panels and the rear deck. I wouldnt upgrade all my wiring to my speakers unless i was installing new speakers and would have to take apart my car anyways. Other than that its too much of a hassle.

4-gauge monster cables would be a good choice. Any car audio store or even big electronic store should have power/ground wires. Monster cable would cost you around $2.50 per foot. That would be the wires going from the battery to the amp. You could use 8 or 10 gauge wire from your amp to your subs, which would cost you about $1-1.50 per foot.
