Rear speakers

I have a '97 Corolla, came from my uncle. Basic as you can get. Manual locks, manual windows, etc. The big thing that bugs me right now is that it only has the two front door speakers. I've searched around the internet, and some sites say that it will fit two 6 1/2" 's in the back. I'd assume these would fit the same way that the rear speakers do in my mom's '01 rolla, but I cant tell. Am I going to have to cut something out to get them to fit properly? Should I just go to best-buy or fry's and have them install them? Any and all advice is welcome.

I have a sony cdx-2250 head unit and am thinking of a pair of pioneer 3-ways for the back.

If they said they'll fit- They'll fit- But, you might as well have someone do it for you-why don't you just look at the back of your "rolla"- take the speakers from your moms car out and then see if they fit in yours. Then you'll know. BTW pioneers are good-the three ways are sweet.

The biggest thing I was wondering was about the particle board/cloth covered thing that makes that back shelf there. Mine has no holes for speakers - something's going to have to be cut if I want the speakers in the car and not just in the trunk, right? Is this a stupid question? I probably will take it in to have somebody do it, but I'd like to know for future reference. Also, any quick tips at getting at the head-unit? You dont have to write a tutorial, I was just wondering if you had any small advice from experience that might make the job a little easier.

It's pretty easy. Pop off the trim, take 4 screws out, unhook the wires, and you're golden.

Personally, I'd ditch the rear fill. In other words, forget rear speakers...you don't need 'em.

Get a good set of components up front and drive 'em with either a 2 or 4 (bridge) channel amp.

err i wouldn't suggest bridging for components... not like you need a LOT of power... Just get a 2 channel amp for components in the front.
