I'm thinking on an amp for my speakers as my next step, what would you guys recomend? any specific made and model? how many watts?
Or should I go with a sub and an amps for it?
Definitely get a 4-channel amp to run your speakers. Your system will sound like ass if you're just running the speakers off the deck. I'd do this before getting a sub and amp to match.
As for brands, it all depends on your budget. I'm running just a Pioneer 4x50watts, and it sounds great. Other guys here can recommend some other stuff.
I think I'll get the 4 channel amp for the speakers first and maybe next time I'll go for the sub and amp for it.
But any idea how many watts amp will be the best for those speakers?
You would probably want a 4 channel amp that can put out 50 - 75 RMS to each channel. Your 6x9s can handle more power than your 6.5s, but they'll sound fine with 75RMS. Those are good speakers, good luck with them.
I'm looking about $250.00 I'll install it myself, ofcourse, if you guys can give me some tips, I think the hardest part will be hiding the wires.
I don't care where to buy it, just good stuff and cheap.
what about:
Profile California CA640
75W x 4 Car Amplifier
$150.00 + wiring + shipping
From www.crutchfield.com
is that fair?
That's not a bad budget amp. I'd go with the CL series. www.thezeb.com has the CL640 for $130 and the CA640 for $120. Another good budget amp is Hifonics. I think they have a 50x4 for around $150. Kenwood puts out a 50 or 60x4 that you can probably pick up for under $200. Lightning makes decent budget amps too and the nice thing about them is that their multichannel put out less power to the fronts and more to the rear. So you can probably find something like 50x2 for the front and 100x2 for the rear channel. Lightning will be the most expensive of the brands listed.
For wiring check out www.knukonceptz.com, you can get a 4guage 4channel amp kit for like $35.
Lightning audio. I heard that profile amps often break. Besides, Lightning Audio (though their lowest line) is under the same corporation as Rockford Fosgate and MB Quart.
Lightning audio would be best. See if you can find the S2.500.4 in your price range. www.cbrstereo.com has it for $220. I'm not too sure about their business practices though.
