what would be the ideal place to put tweeter in a gen2 camry?
i need a place that is easy to run wires to, but will still provide good imaging. i already have door pods holding 6.5's in the doors, so i was thinking about drilling a hole higher up in the door and just sticking them there, or just being lazy and mounting them atop the 6.5's
btw: the speakers are the Kicker k65.2 componet system...if that matters for some strange reason.

Generally, you'll want them close to each other to minimize pathlength differences.
On the other hand, I've heard A pillar installs that were impressive. Not for the faint of heart, mind you.
I think you ought not worry about how easy or hard it is to run wires. The most you'll spend is a day or so doing it. You'll be listening to your system for much longer than that. If I were you, I'd get some heavy double stick tape and mount the tweeters in several locations. Then I go with the one that sounded the best to my ears.
well, its not that im worried about the install, i stripped my car to the sheet metal last summer to run all the wires for my current setup, i just didnt want people suggesting to mount the things in the ceiling or something

My friend has his tweeters mounted at the top of his A-pillars in the ceiling. My friend is also the picture in the dictionary next to the word "Ghettofication". His highs sounds like little ice picks raining in your ear. His low end sounds like someone trying to escape from the trunk.
Let me clarify what I said earlier. The tweeter, generally, should be close to the 6.5's. I believe the manufacturer has set up the supplied crossover in that manner. When you start using funky locations, you're going to have to funktify your crossover settings. Consult the Installation Manual.
Hi everyone. This is my first post here! Does anyone have pics of there speaker setups in there front doors? I currently am currently still using the origonal 4inch's in the dash board and i want to replace them now as i have upgraded to a Sony system appart from these. Also did you hae to cut the wholes in the doors to mount the speakers? as mine dont have any holes( just the in dash ones).
Thanks for the pics mate. I really dont have much experience with this sort of stuff but it looks relativley simple so i think i'll give it a try. By the way are you still running speakers in the dash (the 3.5inch ones) as well?
Thanks for the reply,
Chris
