Is there a formuala for wattage to amperage ratio? Or is there a certain amp alt. that i should get? Right now i am pushing close to 3500 watts give or take. When i am finished i think i might be in the 6000-7000 watt range. On a toyota camry 95 with the same alt housing, i can upgrade to max 100amps. Is that enough or should i go with a new alt?
yeah... voltage * amperage = watts (RMS)
voltage varies however, usually between 12 and 14.4 for 6000-7000 watts... you're going to need A LOT of amperage, like 500+

Are we talking 3500 watts RMS???! Or MAX??
The way I look at it is, when upgrading the electrical system in preparation for a system, you should always go with a high output alternator (200+ amps).
You will NEVER push 6kW-7kW with one alternator, let alone 3.5kW. If you ever get there, you better have several negative-number gauge power and ground cables.
Okay so let's just say that this kid is pushing 3500 watts max...that translates into...I'd say about 900 watts RMS...still necessary for an alternator upgrade IMO just to be safe. Better safe than sorry when it comes to the electrical system...

Just my 2 cents.
Your 900 RMS is a wierd figure, but if that were the case odds are an alternator upgrade wouldn't be needed unless he was running crappy equipment.
Damn you guys think my equipment is a joke. HAHAHa . Right now i can turn all amps to that power and get at least 2400-2800 rms. No joke. I aint stupid. BUt thats not what the real issue is. i need to protect the car first before anything. I want to make some trips but i cant take the risk if a got a alternator that good go at any minute. Right now i should be around the 1000-1800watt rms and i think it is enough for now. I am thinking a 140 amp alt should do it. i was going to do it this morning but i blew one of the sub last night. The audiobahn 1208T. I would never think it would blow but it did. thanks for the adivice any way. I gonna do something bigger this time
i am experimenting with Interfire amps. anybody had a bad experience wit these, cause so far so good. They growing in popularity. Not many use them. They don't get hot though and that is good.
