Sorry for the length...I'm assuming you have little experience with these...
You have the 2 alternatives listed. As far as sound...Low resistance setups pass more power to the speakers given the same input power. Of course, you can just buy an amp that delivers at the resistance of your particular setup and achieve the same thing (in the case of these ones...250-300W per sub at 1.5 or 6...note that I said or, as they cannot happen in the same amp). Quality wise...I've never heard anything distinctive. Some say the low resistance subs are more responsive and sensitive, but nothing my ears have ever been able to pick out. That said, I've always just wired for the lowest ohm the speakers can be and found an amp to work with them.
So, you need an amp rated to run 500-550watts RMS at either 1.5, or 6, depending on what you want/find easier/want to spend. Most amps that can deal with 4 & 8 can deal with 6
AFAIK, and there are many that can now work down to 2ohm, but under 2ohm are a lot less common and tend to be a little spendy (hence I've given you a lot of 6 ohm detail...those JL amps are only at the upper price range of the amps you are going to be considering for 1.5 operation).
Those are your options. Well, there is another...you could give me one and run an amp that can do 250-300w at either 3 or 12 ohm...much more common
