Factory JBL

I have a 2001 camry, and I believe I have the upgraded JBL system. (I bought the car used)
The rear back speakers say JBL on them, and i have the cd player/radio/cassette in 1 unit.

I recently decided i want to upgrade this system. I listen to mostly classical, pop, jazz.

I tried searching around, but I can't find any detailed specs on this factory system.

I just read that a sub needs an amp, so it seems i'll get an amp.

Any recommendations? I'm looking at $300 and below.

I would just keep it... you can add a sub if you find out where the factory amp is... just splice the wires before they connect to the amp to a hi-low converter and run RCAs to your sub amp...

z168 that HU won't work for you unless you have that factory amp anyway...

I'm hesitant over changing the head unit, because most aftermarket ones have these really tiny buttons and are complicated to use. and then there's the theft issue.

anyone know any specs about this head unit i have?

im planning on working for bestbuy or circuitcity for their discount.
