Is it to much

At first i wanted a massive spl system but i got to much MotherFudgin bass. I can't even blast it no more. My ears keep ringin. Anyways, instead i want a super SQ system. Just wanted to hear opinons on the setup. Speaker recommendations are appreiciated for custom areas.

1 componets in rear door panel. L/R
1 components in kick panels. L/R
1 tweeeters in kick panels. L/R
1 tweeters by the sidemirror or a bit higher.L/R
1 center speaker (maybe)

I had an SPL system in my Eclipse. Now I don't want any thump whatsoever. I just want SQ so I think I'm in the same boat as you. I think if you add all those tweeters all you're gonna do is make your ears bleed. You're talking about putting in 2 component sets, two sets of tweeters and a set of mids. I'd take all the money you were planning to spend on all those speakers and buy a nice quality component set for up front and something nice for rear fill. Even if you were only planning on spending $100 a set for each set of speakers that gives you $500 to spend on interior speakers. You can buy some nice Focal components or something with all that cash. Then just amp them and you won't feel the need to have all those speakers in your car and the SQ would be much better.

well i got the 4 componets so far. They are amped. I didn't put the tweeters in cause i want them custom fitted along the doors.
But i want the look without losing sound guality So so far i only need one set of tweeters. But what about the rears door. I was thinking bout 3" componets just get a full sound or could i do without it. KIck panels i'm gonna go wit it. Fu*& it, gotta be little different.

SQ systems cost about twice as much as SPL setups. Focal and MB quart makes the best speakers, in my opinion. And you definately cannot beat the MB Quart tweeter. They are without a doubt the best tweeters available. If you like loud, have the money, and have the custom skills, you may want to look at horn loaded compression driven tweeters. Image Dynamics and Crossfire makes them. They get super loud and stay clear. Then you would have to buy high end amps, wires, deck, and sound dampening material. Be prepared to spend a ton of money.

With that many speakers youre putting in, you may as well put an LCD screen with DTS surround sound. haha

I second one set of quality components in the front. Rear fill isn't necessary for SQ, it's more of a personal flavor thing.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "look". All the best sound systems I've heard, you'd be hard pressed to point out any equipment.

Spend the most money on the speaker part of your system. Especially in the midrange/midbass frequency spectrum.

Well, my ideal SQ system would be the following and nothing else...

One SI Magnum D2 12" in the trunk.
Pair of CDT CL-6 6.5" coaxials in the back for rear fill driven by the head unit
Pair of CDT CL-61a 6.5" components in the front powered by a 2 channel amp.

Anything else, is irrelevant.

You've been spending too much time on caraudio.com/vb. That setup isn't anything great. The sub is the best part.

When i say look i mean having 10 speakers in your car but it sounds like shit. Or having 10 speakers in your car and people say damn he got 10 speakers in his car and it sounds awsome. It is not about being loud it's the sound being balanced. Just so full and smooth. You feel me. You gotta take in consideration i got more than enough bass. So i definitly need one set of tweeters. But thanks anyway for the advice.

I am definitely not changing my 4 components kickers. They are good. It's the other custom area's i really need help wit or opinions.

And your crazy if i am going to change my subs. Damn proud of my 2 12 audiobahn 1208t. I love bass but i need some quality to back it up.

I would do it like this... 8 speakers (4 pairs). Get either a 3 piece component set OR a 2 piece component set (5.25" or smaller) and then get seperate midbass drivers AND a pair of 10s or 12s in the trunk.

Finese I don't mean to question your judgement, you know your ears better than we do. I'm just afraid you're going to be wasting your money and chopping your car up to add unneeded speakers. Why don't you go down to your local stereo shop and see if they can arrange a demo for you. A local shop near me used to call me up all the time to play it for someone who was unsure of what they wanted. You can have less speakers than you're going for now and still have full sound to compliment your bass. And instead of buying a million speakers all you have to do is buy some nice ones.

Considering that I have a friend with the same exact system, and I doubt you've heard any of that stuff in person, then you my friend are wrong. I surf on CarAudio.com on a need-to-know basis.

I don't think Finese1 has the money for two pairs of Focal Utopias/Kevlars or CDT Eurosports. With that said, what's the problem with the CDT CL series?

They're an average component set. They're good for the money if you buy them online, otherwise they're a bit overpriced. And the 6.5" coaxial is just an average speaker.

He was looking to purchase multiple sets of speakers. Rather than buy multiple he could easily purchase a nice component set. CDT makes a higher end component set, MB quart makes nice sets, Diamond audio, etc etc which would all sound much better than the CDTs. You'd just have to spend an extra 50 - 75 bucks for them. Hell, even the Audiobahn Q component set sounds better and they can be had online for $200 (The CDTs retail for $220 and are sold for $150, the Audiobahn lowest retail price is $380 for the 2-piece and you can pick them up for $200 from places like ultimate-sounds.com ... you do the math on savings and SQ bang for the buck). There's more to the component world than CDT.

Thats true too. I mean this why i posted. I just wanted to know if some of my ideas are good. I don't want to chop my car if i dont need to. But 4 of any compenets right now ain't gonna cut it. I mean if wanted just sound quality i would have bought kickers ss series and that's it. Used my Vega subs and that would do it. Tell me if that ain't good sound quality. I'm tryin to get the same quality wit a different set of subs. Not exactly. But just want some good sound.
