if you mean trunk space.. no subs would be the way to go ..

upgrading the interior speakers with a small amp under the seats will give you good sound quality, not much bass but .. wat are you looking to achieve???

mad ass shaking bass???
or
crystal clear crisp music???

having a box in my trunk pretty much killed half my trunk space so it's really up to you.

Mount your amp to the back of the seat and put a good connector in your lead from the amp to the sub. Then you can remove the bulk of the system when you need to

Yeah, don't go with the amplified bazooka tubes...they're crap. Expensive and don't sound good at all..

You could go with an Aperiodic Enclosure. They take up about the same depth as the woofers. They do require expert installation. Since you're in SoCal, I can point you towards a shop.

Another solution is to take out your spare tire and build a sub enclosure in the well. Very trick and everything looks stock. You'd be best to have AAA, though.

There's nothing wrong with Free Air, especially if you're concerned with SQ.

What kind of bass response are you looking for? Are you a music lover or do you want to pound the neighborhood concrete without regard to accuracy?

One last suggestion. Subs do not neccesarily have to go in the trunk. With a little thought, there are many places one can fit a sub.

The best way is to raise your trunk and put the sub in the spare tire section. The job is pretty simple. I can help u do it for $800, the outcome would be a nice custom trunk.

if you just want to round out the frequency range and add a little bump, you could use a Kenwood w00x or 2. I heard them in a jeep and it sounded pretty good. much better than a bazooka.

if you dont know what a w00x is, its a tiny sub, like 6.5"? with a funky designed case that amplifies the sound waves. the whole thing is self amplified and hooks up just like a regular amp.

ive never had a flat in my life (that required changing the tire) but i still want to keep the spare tire.

yes i need trunk space and yes im more concerned about SQ but a little thumping wouldnt hurt since i listen to a lot of jazz and RNB

so that settles it bazookas are out

hmmm... amplify by current setup?... maybe just upgrade d rear deck speakers? (ive a 99 camry LE speakers still stock)

w00x? if you can send links pls post.

thanks for all the imputs

Sup guys, This is what i did in My 97' camry I put high powered components up front and some high powered 6X9's in the back and a 4 channel amp to power all of this, you still got a Trunk and it sounds great, it's elegant and has Quality Sound !

if someone really wants more Bass, then fiberglass a 10" or 12" on the left side (i'm working on that )

I say free air woofer will not give enough bass. I used to have 2 10"mounted on a board. The bass is not as solid as in a box. Looks & spaces wise is good, but if u goin to put so many sh!t in your car. Might as well go for the best result right ?!
