looking for reliable alarm system

I am looking to buy and install an aftermarket alarm system myself.
the vehicle already came with keyless entry so i guess it shouldnt be too hard to hook it up myself...
does anyone have any recommendations as of which brand and the difficulties on installing these things?

thanks for helping.

I have an Autopage RS-750. It has a pager and an LCD screen. I love it!! I have had no problems at all. As far as the DIY job just make sure you have all of the CORRECT wire colors and locations and you should be fine. However, the hardest part is always fishing through the firewall. You have to find a good gromet to poke through. It takes time and patience.
You could try wirewerx.com for wire colors and locations. It's a good site. I think they charge like $2.

There are a lot of brands out there. The ones actually worth your money need to be professionally installed. Reliable brands are Alpine, Directed brands (Viper, Hornet, Directed, Clifford, Wasp, Sidewinder etc), and Compustar. Of the brands listed Compustar would be the last one I put in my car.
