radio wiring problems

i am having some wiring problems with my radio. the last owner of my car spliced the constant(blue w/ yellow stripe) to the ignition (gray) so my radio would stay on all the time. I just replaced the dash in my car and wanted to change it so that the radio would turn off with the car.

so basicly somehow i broke my constant(blue w/ yellow stripe) wire so now everything loses its memory and stuff.

any suggestions on what i should do to fix this? just rewire it? but where should i start? i have no clue where the blue w/yellow stripe wire goes.

my car is an 88 corolla sedan dx.

First, moved to Audio/Video section.

Anyway there should be 2 power wires for the head unit. One is for constant power (for memory) and the other is power wire is wired to the ignition. Usually when it's wired to the ignition, it means that there's only power when the key is in the ACC or On.

So the constant should connect to the constant, and the ignition wire from the radio should be hooked up to the ignition on the car. Check the Audio Faq for the colour codes.

ok so where can i find a constant i can tap into? is there one on the ignition or something? the constant for the radio is the blue one with a white strip and gray dots.

i looked around at the wires going into the relay and couldnt find where the constant ended up.
