indash dvd question

Hi, my friend is getting an indash dvd player (with lcd flipout) its the kenwood KVT-911DVD. It however does not come with a "brain", does one need a brain for it to work ?

Also where is a good place to get the wires and "brain" if the brain is necessary.

Thanks alot.

What do you mean that it doesn't have a "brain"?

It's a DVD player, so it will play (and show) the DVDs/CDs you put into it. It's also has an AV receiver so it will accept inputs from other devices (like a PS2 or Xbox or VCR or back-up camera, etc.) It has a built in amplifier and equalizer so it will play through your speakers and it is also satillite radio "ready."

If you want it to recieve satillite and/or AM/FM radio broadcasts, then yes, you'll need to get something else with it.
