OEM Radio Question

I am having problems finding a station on my OEM radio's. (this is a prob on my 4th gen camry and my gen 1 solara). I try and use the seek..and the station I want is skipped. Even when tuning it manaully...I am unsuccessful. The station i seek is 91.2 (manually it goes from 91.1 -91.3-91.5)...ie. the decimal digits only allow for odd numbers. The station i seek is at 91.2. My my friends LS430, she can hear the same crystal clear...I can hear the station on 91.3...but there is a lot of static! Any solutions to fixing the OEM radio's...or is my choice only to opt for aftermarket ones??

I wouldn't doubt it if the LS430 used an amplified antenna system with better diversity tuning. You can't compare it to a Gen4 Camry or Gen1 Solara. OEM radios just don't pick up some of the weaker stations that well.

dude...read..its not a problem of me not getting the signal for a station....its the fact that OEM radio settings on my these two cars are set to a feature whereby (when manual tuning) they go from 91.1 - 91.3 - 91.5 (meaning that skip all the even decimal digits like 91.2 & 91.4). The station i seek is broadcasted at 91.2...I get the static version at 91.3...i wanted to know how do i get 91.2 on my stock radio...and FYI: i went to a caraudio shop yeaterday...they were busy..so i just played with their radio's on display...they too skip the even decimal digits...bummer...

Does your friend's LS430 can actually tune to 91.2? I didn't read that it was tuned to 91.2, but actually 91.3, which, you still can't compare due to the (possibly) amplified antenna system. Unfortunately, NA-bound OEM radios don't tune evenly, since there would be crosstalk between the other stations. Most aftermarket radios won't tune to it either, unless, it's some sort of universal tuner that can also go in half-steps.
