this isn't really a hardcore question, so I thought I'd just post it here, and get more ideas this way too...
where do you guys put the crossovers for your front component sets? I was thinking of putting it all hte way in the back w/ the 4chnl, but then that'd be a pretty stupid amount of wires to run thru the car.....weight it down, you know.....lol...
but seriously....I was wondering if I could just hide it inside the door and duct tape it or something....
thanks ppls!

Tell me 'bout it! I put my x-over in the truck and had to run dbl the amt of wires to get them back there.
If you don't wanna go through all that trouble, try tucking them behind the center dash, behind the radio. There a good amount small pockets in and around there.
You could put it in the door but I couldn't figure an easy way to mount them. You also have to worry about moisture gettign to them.
It ain't a hardcore question, but it does belong in the A/V section. Too much bleach in yer hair King...
I stuck my crossovers for my components in the front door. There's a ton a room for there in here. Are yours active or passive? My are passive, so it doesn't need any extra wiring or anything...not too big either.
Depends how big they are but since my perfect's crossover is a bit large i put them under the front seats, wires are semi visible if you go looking for em but whatever. I could've done a better job but just don't care.

whoops.....I don't know what I was thinking about the hardcore thing totally forgot about the a/v section....
and it's an active crossover, so that's why I'm wondering about the wires.....
I think I'll probably end up doing it the way that phi did it and run lots of wire....I bought extra wire initially to do this exact thing, but then started to wonder if it was kinda stupid .....
thanks guys

If youre putting your speakers in the door, you could put the crossovers in the little pockets... then just run wires into and out of the pocket, i dont think youd even have to cut or drill to do that. There's also PLENTY of space inside the door panel itself to hide the crossover. Just make sure to do it between the door panel (the part that comes off, with the vinyl) and the first metal screen thing of metal, that way it won't get hit by the window. Running one wire through the grommet to the door is a pain in the ass, so running two is probably a bit harder, so just keep that in mind if you want to put the woofer and tweeter on the door somewhere.

I'm actually running the tweeters to the a pillar, so that's why either way, there'll be a good number of wires and this way I'll only have to run the woofer wires thru the grommet

Best way to run wires through the grommet? cut a hole in each side of it and then slip the wires through from there... saves a ton of frustration. Don't know if anyone here has done it without cutting. You can leave the wire exposed, it should be fine, I've had no problems yet or you could electrical tape it or put some wire loom around it.
