I have a GEN 3 Camry with some Pioneers in the front, I'll be putting some Pioneers 6x9's on the back and I currently have a Boss CD player 70 watts x channel.
I want to get two 12" subs and an amp. What would you recommend?
I got pioneer head unit and pioneer 4-way speakers in front and back of the car. It sounds so freakin loud and crisp that it's awesome.
If you want good subs, you pay for what you get. I originally bought 2-12" Pioneer Premiers and the bass hit, but not hard enough. So, right now I'm thinking about doing 4-10" JL W3V2's which should allow me to bump my way down rather than drive.
If you want real heavy hitting bass and got the money, go for 1 JL 12" W7. Those things are badass, it's like comparing 6-12" Pioneers that I've got now. Mayber even more.
Or even go with Brahman (i think that's how you spell it). Those things bump also

the 12" JL W7 is the newest out right now (i think), but a audio store around me asked for something like $850-900 for the sub enclosed in a ported box.
the W6's also hit very hard. He tested them out for me to listen to and 1-10" sub, yes that is 1-10" sub was atleast two times louder than the subs that i have now. He was asking around $750-800 for 2-10" W6's in ported box.
If you do what I'm thinking of doing, you need atleast 2-10" JL W3V2's to equal 1-10" W6. I bought my 2 w3v2's off ebay for like $300 which includes shipping. anyother questions, post up or PM me
CHECK EBAY!!!!! You'll find alot items cheaper than what a normal store would ask for

like i said in my earlier post, you get what you spend. Sure the JL subs are alittle pricey, but you won't have to worry like me about getting better subs later and spending even more money.
If he gets 1-12" W7 that's powered by either an Alphine v12 Mono amp or something else with more power, he won't have to worry about his system for the next XX long.
If you wanna go with something less pricey, go for it, but i'm just telling you that you're gonna regret it later and wish that you spent the extra $200-300 or so. Cause that's exactly what I did and now I'm coughing up more money that I should have.

The amp is Alpine not Alphine. I've never heard of Alphine although they are coming off with clever knockoffs lately. If he has an "Alphine" amp (whatever that is), I'm sure it's a peice of crap and wouldn't be able to handle a W7 and he won't be able to afford one as well.
Regardless, most people on a modest budget are happy with decent equipment. Not everyone needs/wants to start off with flagship/competition level subs.

Not sure about panasonic subs and shit but i have a panasonic cd player (walkman) and panasonics do not go very loud at all...I'd recommend Sony, its Much louder. But these facts are about walkmans but it might translate into subs and stuff...I dont know, can anyone give 1st hand experience about panasonic subs?

I don't beleive panasonic makes car audio subs. But, they do make head units and speakers. Their head units are ok, in the US they're considered a budget line. Overseas they have better models.
Sony divides its electronics into subsidiary companies. Their car audio company used to great (ES line). Eventually they sold out and instead of offering quality products like the Mobile ES line they started cutting costs and making products that were more cost effective for the customer. Since then their quality has been considered low poor and they've been given a bad rap. Recently they've put out some high end head units which are supposed to be decent, but everyone is afraid to give them a try since there are so many other head units to choose from.
How a company makes a walkman means nothing when it comes to their speaker quality in car audio. They aren't related. They're made in different factories, designed by different engineers, and have their own budget, warranty, staff, etc.
:Edit: I just looked up Panasonic and found a few subs they make. I've never seen them sold anywhere nor have I heard of anyone ever buying one so I can't comment on them. They have an 18" with a single 4ohm voice coil rated at 300RMS that is selling at thezeb.com for $850...

Maybe you'll wanna get ice later, and start off with car mods..
Can someone help me out? What is ice? I'm not down with the new highschool talk. While I agree that the W7 is worth the money that doesn't mean everyone looking to add subs to their car should buy it. There are plenty of other drivers on the market that are just fine and won't cost you an arm and a leg. I spent $40 on my computer speakers/sub and I'm more than happy. Yea when I go to the store and hear the $400+ sets I'm amazed, but I wouldn't be caught dead spending that kind of cash on computer speakers. I have my own priorities and for what I spent I'm very happy. It's the same with car audio. He bought a mid level amp and a mid level sub would be just fine. He can pick up an L7 for about $350 and I'm sure he'll be pleased and feel no need to upgrade. Eclipse Titaniums go for around $275. W6s are great drivers. Online companies such as elemental designs and adire audio offer great products at great prices.
JaJay721, why you so critical about how i spelled alpine, it was just a typo. Sometimes i don't see it and just keep typing. besides, who really cares if spelled one way or another, as long as people know what the hell i'm actually talking about.
On topic at hand, i was always taught and i still enforce saying that paying more now for a better quality good is better than having to buying something two or three times in the long run. Just my $.02
Jajay721 is right in the fact that priorities do come first, so it's up to him to spend his money.

I apologize, I thought the poster stated he had an "Alphine" amp. I got confused through the reading of the post. And I didn't mean to be critical. There are a lot of knockoffs out there that change around the letters/phonetics of major brands to trick people.
I agree that for people who are into car audio you should never settle for less than you can afford/want or you'll never be happy with your system. I'm about to drop an H2 in my Camry with possibilities of another if I feel the need. I don't buy low end equipment or amps to push high end drivers and I believe in not skimping on a head unit. When I drop in my H2, my Infinity Perfects will be the weak point of my system and may need to be upgraded. I've built numerous cars and replaced my parts. I can understand where you're coming from and saying it sucks to do so and it's best to do it right the first time. But try to convince me of that when I first started getting into car audio and I'd tell you you're nuts. There would be no way I'd drop $800 on a sub.
I'm looking for something that will give me a nice bass, I don't want to get all the cars around me vibrating. I was looking at a pair of Kicker subs or some Audiobahn subs. I'm def. not spending more than $150 on a sub. I don't have the money to do so, and even if I did I don't think I would.
