A neat head unit came in to work, the other day

And I want it so bad.

Thought I'd post this cause I remember several people mentioning wanting something like this in the past.

Eclipse AVN 2454. It's a double-din head unit with touchscreen

CD, DVD, MP3, and Nav! So cool.
I was under the impression that it also has a 20G HDD in there, but I see no mention of it on Eclipse's website. The AVX2494 has it, but that unit doesn't have nav. I'd be willing to bet there's a HDD add-on for the unit, though.

Anyway, just sharing the love.

Yeah man, that head unit makes me seriously consider plunking down a grand or two for car audio. If the nav unit doesn't in fact have a hard drive, it's less desirable. Dunno. I was told it retails for around $2k.

You do not want to know the markup on it. It's insane.

It doesnt, thats the AVN2494, but the 2494 has no navi, would have to go Alpine route, they just came out with a double din screen as well.

Kenwood Excelon just realeased one as well. Someone in this forum was selling a double din screen with DVD built in (I think) by Rosen earlier this year.

I just want a Lilliput USB touchscreen programmed to my settings and hooked up to a hacked-up labtop with the audio output running to the input on my headunit.

JVC?!?!?!
every jvc car audio thing ive ever seen was crap!!!
their cd changers dont have shock absorbers, their head units put out crap sound...
unless they've made HUGE strides i wouldnt go JVC....as far as car audio goes

JVC makes good home stuff just not car stuff...imo
