It looks like I did it now.
While trying to install an aftermarket amplifier (Rockford Fosgate 500s) and aftermarket subwoofer (Polk MOMO MM12) on to my factory head unit... I tried locating the 12v + wire on my Toyota Harness. However, on the 1995 Toyota Avalon XLS with doubledin head unit, the wire harness is different because it goes into a stock amplifier.
Well, thinking the gray colored wire was universally the Toyota wire for 12v + ACC ignition wire, I tapped right into it with the REM remote turn on wire. I proceeded attaching one probe from my multimeter onto the REM lead, and the other probe onto a screw. I pressed the CD button on my factory head unit and SUCCESS!

I had a reading on my multimeter and my CD changer was playing my CD.
Immediately like a second after, my radio switched from CD mode into radio mode. I tried pressing the CD button to play from the changer and it would not respond. *GAME OVER*
I think I fried something, what I dont know. The radio function still works... as for the CD changer function... GONE.
I know it's a long shot, but does anyone know what to do or how to fix this? I checked the fuse for CIG/RADIO and it is not blown. I really don't know what to do.
Since I am on the subject, my factory radio clearly does not have a remote turn on lead to connect an aftermarket amplifier. I know my antenna only activates when I use the radio so it would not activate when I use my CD changer and I can't get access into my cigarette lighter because I dont know how to remove some panels blocking it. Are there any other 12v + sources for the REM remote turn on wire for an aftermarket amp??
