stereo problems...

I'm having some problems with the stock stereo system on my 94'.

The CD player works, but none of the buttons below the CD insert work. I can't select tracks or skip ahead. I can still listen to CD's, but only from beginning to end.

The CD power button doesn't work, the random button and all those lower buttons don't work.

Any clues?

Yeah, get an aftermarket and junk that thing (unless you have warranty still)

why get an after market one?..... depending on the internals it just could have shifted... have fun.. take it apart and see if you can fix it.... if all else fails buy a new one.... but don't spend money to fix the one you have.

I'm satisfied with the stock stereo system and don't want to spend money on a car that old.

The only issue is that the lower buttons don't work.

If I take the unit out of the car, don't I need some code to reinstall it or it won't work?

No, you can yank in and out of your car, but if you have to replace it, I would rather replace it with an aftermarket than another stock deck. Good Luck Man
