Red face 01 Avalon JBL sub blew...can't find replacement!

Well, I'm new here so hi . I was driving my parent's 01' Avalon which has the premium JBL sound system. I had the windows down driving on the hwy and needless to say...the sub blew. I need a replacement JBL sub of that same thing or better. I searched all over for that sub with no luck. I believe its an 8 in'' and it said 3.7 ohms I'm guessing a 4 ohm sub would work. I need to know what can work there. THANX

Is the car still under the 3-yr/36k-mile warranty? If so, you can let the dealer replace it. If you get an aftermarket one, 1) the OEM amp will NOT be able to drive it, too little power, 2) will not fit properly, thus causing air leaks, and 3) possibly flex the rear deck due to its heavier weight. Are you sure it's the sub, and not the sub amp portion of the OEM amp?

Okay, I told them. I was smooth thought My dad and I were driving about a week back and he noticed the music sounded tinny. I told him..ah, its rock...it doesn't have bass. Well, today I was moving the other cars to wash my car and told him I adjusted his car's bass and something sounded funny, in which I found to be the sub.

Yeah! He said "oh well, its not hard to fix. And I might not even do that at all" My dad rarely drives it cuz he's got something else and my mom rarely drives it. My mom never ever drives with the music anyways
