8 ohms

is it safe for most car amps to see a 8 ohm load or could they only run on 4 and 2 and 1 ohms loads safely?

depends on what kind of amp it is and it's intended application.....

for 4 or 2 channel amps, they could be intended to be run at 8ohms b/c they usually aren't designed to be made for raw power but for mono blocks, they are generally made to be run at at least 4 ohms and *should* be still steady and not overheat at 2ohms

if you get a competition or at least a very good quality mono amp, it should be able to be run at a true 1ohm

best way is to take a look at the manual...

8 ohms is fine.

Lower resistance = more power, but you have to make sure your amp can handle it.

Higher resistance = less power.
