Head unit dimmer lead...

Why is it that most, if not all, installation places don't connect the dimmer lead from the head unit to the dimmer lead on the aftermarket harness adapter?

Because its not nessacary for the essential operation of the hu? I mean shit, I know some of the guys down a CircuitShitty use the twist and tape method for the standard head unit install.

Yeah... It took me 1hr to solder and tape all the leads, pull the dash, install the new mounting bracket, relocate all the climate control wiring and all the disc changer crap and put everything back in the Cutlass. Ult Elect wanted $129 plus parts to install it.

I like the dimmer function, kicks the display down a notch at night when you turn the headlights on.

Yeah but some car brands dimmer wire functions differently... some have a positive, some a negative... im sure there's other things that vary.
