Audio Experts.... help.

hey, i got a mega-problem here. i just got a new 300 watt Legacy amp today (for free). so i decided to wire it in with my 250 Watt Road Gear amp, for my 2 400w (a piece) MTX subs. the only problem is, when i hook them each up seperately, either works.... but when you hook them up together, neither does. what's going wrong here? is it that even though the subs are 400 watts a piece, when they're wired in series (two subs, one wire hookup) they can only handle 400 watts? or...?

maybe your remote wire is too thin and not giving enough power to turn them both on

.....but both amps have the power light on and warning light off before you put both wires into the sub box. then they go bad. so i'm thinking it has something to do with the box?

....fixed it. i figured out that you can't plug both positives and both negatives into the same hole. i plugged the positive from one and the negative from the other in, and it worked.
